Universität Basel Petersplatz 1 (Lecture Hall 120, 1st floor), 4001 Basel, Schweiz,
"Конференция" - Studentische Konferenz für Osteuropa-Forschung in der Schweiz
The goal of the conference consists in assembling students of BA and BA degree programs as well as PhD candidates to meet and to exchange and connect with each other.
Several universities in Switzerland offer courses of study on the culture and history of Eastern Europe, Slavonic Studies etc. While the different faculties are well connected, the exchange between the students doesn’t take place or only at a very low level.
This is what we want to change with this conference: our goal consists in assembling students of BA and BA degree programs as well as PhD candidates to meet and to exchange and connect with each other. We want to create a platform where the participants can establish new contacts and improve their presentation skills at the same time. Additionally this conference offers undergraduate students the possibility to present and discuss their scientific research in a professional setting.
The conference consists of panels, where the students present their current projects of research and theses, but also contains other activities such as a guided tour through the city of Basel, a dinner or a movie night where the students can connect with each other.
The first day of the Conference will start with a Keynote Lecture by Kateryna Botanova (Basel / Kyiv): 30 years after the Wall: what's wrong with Eastern Europe (again)?
